The Catshack Reports touched base once more with one of the organizers for the European Paintball Federation regarding their work to build paintball across the European Union. Victoria Sarantseva responded to the Catshack inquiries to better understand what the EPBF is all about.

Victoria: The EPBF is not a league but the governing body. We support the National Federations in their developing of the paintball sport locally; but also we collect their efforts into a common stream and then we direct the stream at the European Paintball Sport development.

Briefly, the main goal of the EPBF is to ensure the official recognition and development of paintball as a sport all over Europe and worldwide. To achieve the goal, EPBF is looking for the cooperation with European National Federations, who develop the paintball sport locally in their own countries. Of course the National Federations, who cooperates with EPBF, receive their benefits from it, such as:
•Recognition and accreditation from the European Paintball Federation, that helps to assert themselves as the representative of European Federation in their country;
•Possibility for their National Teams to participate in events, organized by EPBF and other affiliated National Federations, that helps to develop the paintball in their country buy using the possibility for the teams to participate in the official European Cups and Championships;
•Promotion of their Organizations in EPBF publications, media-reporting and on the EPBF website.
•Financial benefits for their Organizations such as the discounts on entry fee for their National Teams to participate in European Cups, such as Ladies Cup, Nations Cup and Youth Cup.

These benefits are only a small part of what the Federations can receive from EPBF.

One of our main tasks is to organize the European Cups with participation of the National teams from different European countries and others.

Catshack Reports: Victoria, How many teams on average participate in the Ladies Cup, European Nations Cup and Youth Cup?

Victoria: We had 3 National Women Teams participated in European Ladies Cup, 16 National Teams from European countries participated in Nations Cup, and the European Youth Cup will be held in the beginning of October, but we plan up to 12 National Youth teams from European countries as well.

The Catshack Reports: Do you feel last years problems in Germany have had negative impact on any of the series, is paintball in Europe flourishing in your opinion?

Victoria: Because we are not a Series or League, we don’t feel we have any problems with Germany. We cooperate with a lot of National Federations from European countries. German National Teams did participate in the Ladies Cup and Nations Cup so I believe last years issues did not affect German paintball much.
